'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews clash with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he remembers the thrilling final moments of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear amid the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from distance, and Cameron Burgess promptly converted the loose ball before sprinting toward the East Stand to celebrate, with fans mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an extraordinary recovery given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 during the second half. During the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result booked a next round match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It feels criminal that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that range," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right wing-back after they changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the opposition who complimented the way his former team approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they never miss a pass and they are adept at control and neutralize a game. You can think you're all right and then abruptly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even spotting it. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and concentration just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a popular figure across a couple of years at his former club and has rapidly achieved similar status in south Wales. At the London club he linked up again with the coach, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he departed Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without serious challenge. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

He has shown that growth for both domestically and internationally, excelling for Northern Ireland, who are fighting to qualify for the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This represents an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his dad, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Old Trafford Memory

The player's single match for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the venue ceiling was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was cold out there," he comments, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Moving On

How hard was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "The decision proved quite easy, because I got to the stage where I knew I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the years at the club but it became apparent where I believed I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

New Environment

It is mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a small coach driven by team personnel, the transport team, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include a teammate, Ronald, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to spend time with the lads but I'm planning to be the following person to stop using the bus and on the road. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
